Top Drawer - New Season Products

Who would think a cold and dark Sunday morning in January would be inspirational hey? But yep! It can be! I set the alarm for early o'clock, and headed off on the early train (with coffee in hand, obv's) to Top Drawer in London, to see the new seasons ranges from our lovely suppliers, and hopefully find some cool new suppliers for our little shop!

So here's what we discovered, and what you can expect to see in our little slice of awesome right here in Market Harborough -

This trend shows no sign of slowing, and completely dominated the show! Green everywhere, plants a go-go, and all the fabrics taken from nature. Think cotton, jute, rafia, seagrass and wood, and you're there.

We absolutely love this trend, and think its so versatile. You can easily update your home with a little pot plant in a basket, a new rafia lampshade, or add a fern print in a wooden shade & you're done! Easy!

The dominance of green was amazing, we love it, so fresh and inspiring for the new year & new season. We really love it with plenty of black and white, and especially mixed with gold or brass highlights for a nice luxe feel.

Turn the worst day of the year (divorce, anyone?!) to a happy thing with this cool hue. Although its been on trend for a few seasons now, it shows no signs of slowing. Mix your blues with other deep, bold jewel colours (deep pink, mustard, dark green and gold) for an up-to-date look. Check out this BEAUTIFUL stand by homeware supplier Coach House for all your colour goals.

Circular forms are EVERYTHING right now, like more than actual life! And I'm not one to exaggerate. Mirrors, clocks, shelving, pots, anything you can think of, get it in a circular silhouette and you're onto a winner.

I know. You might think I've gone mental. We're usually allllll about anything *but* being beige! However this trend is gaining momentum, and quickly. Interiors are going all nude, like, full out!
And actually, we love it! Nude, upon beige, upon nude, can look seriously cool when done right. And teamed with all the dusky pinks and muted, earthy tones, it is uber stylish, so watch this space for Lily Loves Shopping turning beige! Who'd have thought it! Haha. (Just no magnolia, please people).

All hail David Attenborough right? He speaks, the world listens, and quite right too. The images of our over-consumption are shocking, and we all need to do our bit to help save this little planet of ours. At Top Drawer we were delighted to find Liv Interior who create beautiful rugs and throws made from 100% reclaimed bottles! Isn't that amazing? And they're SO soft, you'd never know they weren't an original textile. I'm thinking of stocking a few and help contribute, do our little bit. What do you guys think?

As you know, we bloody love good stationery. We've got our eyes on some amazing new planners, notebooks, pens, pencils and drinkware, all with our usual level of mean humour! (Never knowingly gushing, that's us).

We always used to stock Ohh Deer in our first year, but somehow didn't really order much in the last year or so. We were delighted to find they have some AMAZING new stationery, greetings cards, and coasters, some of which I've already ordered - so expect to see these very soon! Yay!

Also in line with our kick ass girl power approach, we love all the feminist movement gaining speed over the last year or so (like, really, its only taken a MILLION YEARS, but who's counting!). So finally we might receive equal pay, equal opportunities and finally a level playing field instead of living in some kind of 50's throwback state.

As always, we like to approach serious issues in a humorous way, but we've got some amazing new girl power products planned for this season, we'll let you know when they're on the way!

All our card dreams came true at Top Drawer! We're always looking to update the range and add some awesome new independent designers to our collection, and Top Drawer didn't disappoint.
We've found these AMAZING cards by one-girl-band Mean Mail whose colourful, sarcastic, and seriously funny cards are right up our street, and will sit alongside our Buddy Fernandez range perfectly. Expect to see these real soon.
In a similar vein we adored the new collection at Ohh Deer, and they're great at championing small designer-makers, so this sits with our ethos perfectly.
We also adored the new range from 1973 brand, again the funny and on-trend designs would work really well in our shop, and we loved the new ranges from existing suppliers Sadler Jones, and Old English Co, who have been seen huge successes in the last year or so! We're delighted to have watch them grow.

Top Drawer is great at supporting small, independent businesses, which is perfect for us as we love to do the same. Among many others, we found who creates beautiful hand lettered little flags and banners, she also had a killer outfit on FYI, and was super lovely to boot.

We've got the Spring Fair this Sunday, so we'll no doubt be full of a million more ideas of everything we NEED to bring you in our shop this season! I can't actually wait.

Speak soon lovelies,

Jodie xx
